Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has issued a Yellow Alert for weather in the regions from L. Atoll to Addu City in the south due to anticipated bad weather.
Met Office warned that the regions could experience strong winds of 50 miles per hour and projected rainfall in different regions of the country until tomorrow morning.
Seas are expected to be moderately rough with waves of five to seven feet, warned the Met Office.
Storm surges and sea swells are also expected to affect many islands of the country during high tide.
The country has been experiencing a spell of bad weather due to the turn of the season. The Maldives was also indirectly affected by the Cyclone Amphan which occurred in the Bay of Bengal last week.
