Dhiraagu has arranged so that civil servants can access the government network free of charge through its Fixed Broadband services.
The arrangements were made in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology. The move will allow civil servants to work from home during the government closure in place as a preventive measure against the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
The company stressed the importance of the internet at a time when the government was closed in order for employees to work remotely using different resources. Dhiraagu stated that it was of utmost importance to continue the work of the civil servants through its digital services.
Dhiraagu noted that internet usage and dependency had increased with the situation of Covid-19 as educational and office work are also conducted via the internet. The internet was also important to access information and check up on loved ones. Such reasons have led the company to introduce several data allowances and discounts to its many customers.
Currently, Home Fixed Broadband customers of the company are entitled to discounts of 50 percent and 140 percent in data allowances in April. The discounts and allowances would be extended to May as well. The company has also rolled out discounts of 50 percent for Fixed Broadband Boosters as well.
Dhiraagu will also provide its Post-Paid customers with 50-75 percent free data allowances for April and May. For Pre-Paid customers, the company 50 percent extra data will be available from add on packages.
The company is working with the government to assist in as many ways possible.
