Sri Lankan boat in distress brought to Hulhumale'

The Sri Lankan fishing boat that ran into trouble at sea near the Maldives on January 23, 2020, has been safely harbored at Hulhumale’ after it was escorted by MNDF coastguard vessels.

MNDF Information Officer Maj. Ibrahim Azim stated that the fishing boat entered the harbor of Hulhumale’s around 6:10 in the morning and everyone on board was in good health.

MNDF began monitoring the vessel after reports of a boat drifting at sea around 199 miles east of Male’ city were received at 17:00 January 23, 2020. MNDF Coastguard’s vessel Nooraddheen was dispatched to assist the boat on January 26.
