The government-run foster care center in Villimale’ will be managed by a director of the Gender Ministry.
The center’s previous CEO Abdul Shukoor Abdul Hakeem was temporarily released from his responsibilities and duties last Thursday. The new director in charge of the center will not be named since he/she is a civil servant, according to a Gender Ministry media official who spoke with “Sun”.
Shukoor was sidelined regarding a request by the Human Rights Commission for an investigation, according to Gender Ministry. No details of the case were also given.
The center in Villimale’ houses children aged 13-18 while another center in Hulhumale’ houses children aged below 13.
