Foreign Ministry will be making temporary arrangements for those traveling to Germany to apply for German Schengen Visa in the Maldives. The Ministry will be establishing a German-Schengen Biometric Clinic next month in the Foreign Ministry.

The clinic will be established by the German embassy and will be open for service from February 3, 2020, from 9:00 to 18:00. Appointments for the clinic can be made via a link, according to the Foreign Ministry. More information will be available from the VFS website.

Foreign Ministry stated that the clinic was targeted to resolve visa issues and ease the process for those traveling for the ITB fair in Berlin.

Foreign Minister Shahid has previously announced that a permanent visa application center will be established in the Maldives in the near future. Work on the center is underway with VFS Global, according to the Ministry.
