The Mayor of Male’ city Shifa Mohamed will be meeting with locals interested in running the local market.
The meeting will be held in the city council office next Sunday at 16:00. Interested parties have been invited to take part in the meeting.
The local market has been closed for renovation for quite some time. When complete, the market will have stalls with eight and nine feet in size. Male’ city council’s Maafannu member, Mohamed Fazeen, previously informed “Sun” that the market would soon see policy changes. These policy changes would give preference to locals.
The current policy allows people to rent out the stalls in the market to others, resulting in price fluctuations in the products at the market.
