Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed as the host of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Festival also known as STEM Festival 2019 organized by local NGO Women in Tech.
The agreement was signed by Managing Director Suhail Ahmed on behalf of HDC and President of Women in Tech Hafsath Aleem in a ceremony held at the HDC office this morning.

The agreement will see HDC take part as an exhibitor in the festival held until this Saturday in the central park of Hulhumale’. HDC will showoff the smart city concept and provide information about the concept at the stall by the corporation.
The festival is expected to consist of a variety of activities and events set up for visitors of all ages and will showcase the talent of boys and girls in the field of technology in addition to providing a platform for vendors in related fields to showcase their products.

The festival will also consist of speeches by leading figures of companies such as Bank of Maldives (BML) that are long-time contributors to the sectors that the festival is themed for this year.
The Festival will be held from 4 to 11 and around 20 exhibitors have so far taken part in the festival. Participants include government and private sector companies, startups, NGOs and even university colleges. More details about the exhibitors are available from the Facebook page of Women in Tech.
