Chinese company contracted for govt. building in Hulhumale'

A Chinese company named Hunan No.6 Engineering Co. Ltd has been contracted to build the government office building in Hulhumale’ by the Planning Ministry. 

The agreement for the project was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed and the Legal Representative of Hunan No.6 Engineering Co. Ltd. 

Permanent Secretary Zeeniya commented that the building will have six floors for government offices and will cost MVR 185 million. She did not say which government institutions or Ministries will be based in the building.

The project is expected to be completed within one year.
