MTCC stated that it started operation of its public ferry on August 10. The routes that MTCC ferries will be traveling from are F. Feeali to Nilandhoo five days a week. Ferry services will be on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The ferry table and schedule will be available from the companies' website now and will cost MVR 20.

MTCC will be operating ferries of 100 passenger capacity and will be able to transport bicycles and light luggage between the ilands. Ferry services were operated in Faafu Atoll by a private company named Vermelean which stopped its services all of a sudden for unknown reasons a few months ago. Veamealean was also the company that operated ferry services to Meemu atoll and Dhaalu atoll before stopping.

MTCC has now started operating its ferries in these two atolls as well and now provides services to 169 islands in the country with the exemption of Addu city and Fuvahmulah in the south.
