Bank of Maldives (BML) and Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) have announced they will re-open banking services to customers on August 14.
Banks will close for the weekend and remain closed for the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.
Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced that the central bank and financial institutions regulated by the central bank will re-open on August 14, after the President’s Office declared August 15 a public holiday in a bid to ensure civil servants and school students enjoy an uninterrupted nine-day holiday for Eid.
Both BML and MIB has issued statements announcing all its branches will re-open on August 14.
The Hajj Day falls on Saturday, August 10, and the Eid al-Adha begins the next day, on Sunday, August 11.
