4 arrested from Addu with large cache of drugs

Four people have been arrested from Addu City with a large quantity of drugs in a joint operation by Police Intelligence and Hulhumeedhoo Police Station.

Maldives Police Service reports that 104 rubber packets containing drugs was seized in the operation, which was run on Sunday, June 23.

The four suspects arrested in the operation have been identified as:

  • A 20-year-old female
  • A 27-year-old male
  • A 29-year-old male
  • A 43-year-old male

All four suspects are Maldivian nationals.

Maldives Police Service reports that the 20-year-old female, the 29-year-old male and the 43-year-old male have been remanded for 15 days at a facility determined by Ministry of Home Affairs by Hulhumeedhoo Magistrate Court.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old male has been remanded for 15 days in jail for contempt of court.
