Stalls at new local market in Hulhumale’ open for lease

Stalls at the newly constructed local market, Rashu Maarukeytu, located in the western end of Hulhumale’ is open for lease, reports Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

HDC reports the market was established to make available fruits, vegetables, Maldivian food products and fish available at one location for a low rate to all residents of Hulhumale’ as well as the visitors to Hulhumale’.

Construction of the local market at Hulhumale’ was contracted to Mohan Mutha Exports of India.

The market has 37 stalls for sale of fruits, vegetables and Maldivian food products; and 20 stalls available for sale of fish. The stalls, measuring 69.45 square feet, are now available for lease, reports HDC.

Lease forms are available from the reception at HDC as well as the corporation’s website. Parties interested in leasing stalls at the local market have been instructed to submit their forms between 9 am to 3 pm on April 25.

The monthly lease payment for a stall is MVR 3,500. And applicants will need to submit a bank warranty worth MVR 10,500 along with their form.

CONDITIONS FOR INDIVIDUAL APPLICANTS:

  • Maldivian citizenship
  • Being 18 years of age or above

CONDITION FOR BUSINESS APPLICANTS:

  • Minimum six months since the business has been up and running

HDC has announced it plans on holding a special tour of the local market for interested parties this coming Wednesday.
