Maldives takes part in Japan Marine Diving Fair

Maldives took part in the 27th annual Marine Diving Fair in Tokyo, Japan from 5th to 7th April 2019.

Maldives Embassy in Japan took part in the fair along Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), this year.

The delegation was led by the Maldivian Ambassador to Japan Mr. Ibrahim Uvais.

During the three-day event, various activities, such as local food tasting, bingo game at the stand, where winner were awarded a free holiday package to the Maldives sponsored by Liyela Retreat were carried out in the Maldivian stall.

Additionally, presentations were conducted to deliver information about the diving segment and products of Maldives.

Meetings were held with professionals from the industry to strengthen the presence of Maldivian market in Japan and South East Asia.

With Maldives dive segment marked as the most visited by the Japanese, the fair opened a great platform for the travelers focusing in the dive segment.

The Japanese market is the 9th source market to Maldives according to the most recent arrival figures by the Ministry of Tourism. By the end of February 2019, 3,987 Japanese arrivals were recorded, which is a growth of 6.5 percent compared to the previous year. In 2018 a total of 42,304 arrivals were recorded, which is a growth of 2.8 percent.

Maldives participated in the last 10 Marine Diving Fair.
