Polling time extended to 6 pm, local time

Elections Commission extended the time of polling from 4 pm to 6 pm.

“The commission have decided to extend the polling time to 6 pm, as the heat might reduce the number of people who turn up to vote,” reported the Elections Commission.

A total of 501 ballot boxes have been stationed in all areas of the country and outside the country. Polling of the last ballot box was commenced on 1:30 pm local time, this Saturday.

The number of voters who have voted has reached over 50 percent. A total of 140,900 people has voted – 73,142 males and 67,758 females.
