The motorcyclist injured in the traffic collision on the Hulhumale’ Highway just after midnight last Sunday is in critical condition, reports ADK Hospital.
Maldives Police Service reports the traffic collision took place at 12:10 am, and left one motorcyclist, identified as a 35-year-old male, injured.
An eye witness reported to ‘Sun’ that the collision took place when a pickup drove into the motorcycle lane to overtake other vehicles, and two other motorcycles attempted to overtake the pickup.
“One of the motorcycles swerved and the man driving the vehicle got thrown off. The helmet also got thrown off [the man]. I saw blood,” reported the eye witness.
Managing Director of ADK Hospital, Ahmed Affaal confirmed the motorcyclist was brought into the hospital for treatment.
Affaal reports the man is in critical conditions and is currently receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
He declined to detail the extent of his injuries.
