Maldives Police Service has taken six suspects into custody in connection with the heist in front of the State Bank of India in Male’ City, but has yet to recover the MVR 2.3 million stolen in the heist.
The MVR 2.3 million belong to BHM Traders and was stolen from one of its employees on his way to deposit the money to the bank.
The heist was carried out by four men on two motorcycles who used pepper spray to incapacitated the employee as he sat inside a van outside the bank.
The men were also wearing helmets in an attempt to disguise their identities.
Maldives Police Service reported to 'Sun' this Tuesday that it has six suspects in custody in connection with the heist, three of them minors.
Investigation into the heist continues, but investigators are yet to recover the money, confirms MPS.
