Ali Khalid – former Chief Operating Officer of Television Maldives (TVM) – has been appointed Managing Director of Public Service Media (PSM).
The appointment was confirmed by President of Privatization and Corporatization Board, Mohamed Nizar via Twitter this Tuesday morning.
Ali Khalid serviced as CEO of TVM from 2006-2008, when the national television station was run as a separate entity.
Both TVM and the national radio station – Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu – are now run under Public Service Broadcasting Corporation.
Speaking to ‘Sun’ this Tuesday, Ali Khalid said he had run TVM as an independent and fair media station, and said he will run PSM with the same independence and fairness as well, as a public broadcaster.
The former MD of PSM, Ibrahim Khaleel was dismissed on November 22.
