Robbers break into BML Vilingili Branch

Robbers have broken into the G. A. Vilingili branch of Bank of Maldives (BML) and stolen a large amount of money.

Maldives Police Service reports the robbers removed part of the building’s roof and damaged the safe in order to steal the money.

MPS says the safe had a large amount of money. The exact amount of money is unconfirmed at this point.

The robbery was reported to MPS at 5:30 am this Monday.

Police officers are at the scene to investigate the crime.
