Leaders of the opposition coalitions have decided to guarantee tickets for the upcoming Parliamentary Elections to all 12 recently reinstated lawmakers without any primary, says former Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
Maumoon made the announcement in a tweet this Monday evening.
All coalition partners have already agreed to support the candidacy of the 12 MPs in their respective constituencies without going through a primary in the 2019 Majlis elections.

The 12 lawmakers held a meeting with former Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed earlier this Monday, after which the lawmakers said they discussed allowing them to run for their respective constituencies without going through a party primary.
Rumors of a possible such decision had already created controversy with many calling it undemocratic and unjust.
