The Winter Park, under construction at the Rasrani Bageecha in Male’ City, will be opened by Ramadan this year, says Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Speaking in an interview with Public Service Media, Muizzu addressed the delay in completion of the Winter Park. Muizzu said the park is being constructed very specifically, ensuring the temperature of the building is sustained, and that it is therefore taking more time.
“The main reason for the delay is… This place is being developed very specifically. This is whole together a very different place. The building will have a snow machine for the winter experience. And you can ice skate there. A lot of tests need to be run in order to ensure the place is sustained within the Male’s climate,” said Muizzu.
The minister said the snow machine and material for the Winter Park have been assembled in a French-Swiss factory and transported to Maldives.
Muizzu said the foundation and the initial concrete work for the building has now been completed. He said assembling will begin within the coming week, and the whole building will be complete within 45 days.
