COO Sabeeha appointed to Visit Maldives’ board

Sabeeha Ahmed, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Visit Maldives Corporation, has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors.

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) announced Sabeeha’s appointment as an Executive Director to the Visit Maldives’ Board of Directors on Wednesday afternoon.

Sabeeha began her career in the tourism sector as a sales administrator at Jumeirah Group. She later worked in managerial positions at Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi, Crown & Champa Resorts, and Hilton Hotels & Resorts, before joining Visit Maldives, where she was appointed as the COO in January 2024.

With her appointment, Visit Maldives’ Board is now composed of:

• Abdulla Ghiyas Riyaz, Chairperson
• Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO, Managing Director, and Executive Director
• Sabeeha Ahmed, COO and Executive Director
• Maha Naseer, Non-Executive Director
• Aminath Vulau Mohamed Nazim, Non-Executive Director
• Abdul Sameeu Imad, Non-Executive Director
• Aishath Hameed, Non-Executive Director

Visit Maldives has issued a statement welcoming Sabeeha’s appointment to its Board, remarking that her skills and expertise in marketing will boost the company’s efforts to maintain Maldives’ position as the world’s leading tourist destination.
