Maldives elected Vice-President of UNHRC

The Maldives has been elected Vice-President of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for the remainder of 2025. In this capacity, the Maldives will continue to fulfill the responsibilities of the Asia-Pacific Group as Vice-President. Commenting on this development, the President stated that the Maldives "has a proven track record in advocating for human rights related issues." Describing this as a "milestone"
