2ofus, on Friday, has announced the departure of band member Mohamed Nasooh.
As the band prepares to hold a concert in Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, 2ofus, via a post on its official Instagram account, said Nasooh will no longer be performing as part of the 2ofus live lineup.
According to the band, the decision is mutual and was reached following discussions between the band and Nasooh as the band's upcoming international commitments will require extensive travel and long-term engagements abroad.
2ofus detailed that Nasooh, who has several wedding performances and family commitments ahead, will be focusing on his evolving journey within the local music scene, taking on local projects, where his making a strong impact.
The band praised Nasooh as one of the finest vocalists in the Maldives “without a doubt”, and one of the very best to have performed with the band.
“His voice, spirit, and artistry have left an unforgettable mark on our band's story,” the band said.
2ofus stressed that although the band and Nasooh part ways in the music arena, their bond as brothers remains unshaken.
“Nasooh will always be family, and we'll continue to support and celebrate his journey wherever it leads,” the band added.
The band wished Nasooh success in his future endeavors.
2ofus, founded by Ahmed Adhuham and including Abdulla Shamrooh, Ahmed Shaheed (Shaheed Legacy) and Ahmed Jasheem blends Maldivian rhythms with global influences. They recently performed a sold-out concert at Olympus Theater in Male' city, featuring collaborations with Indian artists and incorporating boduberu, Bollywood, and original compositions.
The band was the second runner-up at the Battle of the Bands International 2025 in India, where Adhuham’s vocal mimicry of island birds gained attention. Their upcoming concert, "Dream Beyond Borders: 2ofus LIVE in Kuala Lumpur," will be the first official overseas concert by a Maldivian band.
