An information session on the Japan Development Scholarship (JDS) program - a full scholarship program funded by the Japanese government – is scheduled to take place on Thursday in the Maldivian capital.
According to the JDS program, the information session will he held at the 9th floor conference room at the Marukab Plaza in Male’ City from 04:30 pm to 05:30 pm on Thursday.
JDS is a Japan-funded scholarship program targeting government officials of the Maldives.
Thursday’s information session is open to civil servants and staff from independent institutions, courts, and legislative bodies.
Those interested in attending the session can register online.
The JDS program said the session offers a valuable opportunity for Maldivian government officials to explore fully funded postgraduate study options in Japan.
Those who attend the session will be provided detailed explanations regarding the JDS program and the application process.
They will also get the chance to meet JDS alumni, gaining insights from their experiences.
The JDS program encouraged all eligible officials to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to learn directly from program coordinators and past recipients.
Applications are open for six scholarship opportunities under the JDS program for the academic year 2026-2027 until November 10.
Launched in the Maldives in 2020, 27 Maldivians have received scholarships under the program over the last five years.
