Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) states recipients of the flats developed by the corporation in Hulhumale’ Phase II will begin moving in starting this week.

Over 2,955 recipients of the 4,000 flats have signed their flat agreements as of present.

According to FDC, the signings are being carried out first for the flats in the towers that are already done and ready for handover.

The corporation added that the flats will be handed over after completing finishing work, including the installation of doors, windows, fans and bathroom fixtures, as well as tiling and wall painting.

When questioned by Sun regarding tenants moving into the flats, FDC’s Managing Director Hamdhaan Shakeel said efforts were to hand over the keys to the flats to recipients who have signed the agreement starting this week.

FDC added that it is the Housing Ministry that is handing the draw of recipients who scored above 76 points but were left out during the draw to allocate flats.

Speaking to reporters on June 29, Housing Minister Dr. Abdulla Muthalib said that work is complete in 1,000 out of 4,000 flats. He expects the handover of all flats to be done by the end of September.
