The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) will expedite the previously announced handover dates for the 4,000 flats built under the former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s housing scheme, with key‑handover notifications set to begin on Sunday evening, said FDC Managing Director Hamdhan Shakeel.
Hamdhan told Sun on Sunday that construction works on all towers have been completed, except for ongoing work by the Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC).
He said flat owners will receive notifications through the Fahi Portal to schedule their key‑handover appointments. According to Hamdhan, the handover process will begin on Monday as planned.
“On Sunday evening, we will send out notices through our Fahi Portal for tenants to log in and schedule a time to come and check their keys,” Hamdhan said.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged that all keys will be handed over before the start of the next academic year, which begins on January 27.
Earlier this month, FDC released expected handover dates for the 4,000 flats. According to the schedule:
Amaan Udhares Towers 11, 12, 13, 15, 16: Second week of this month
Amaan Udhares Tower 8: Third week of January
Amaan Udhares Towers 1, 2, 3, 4, 7: Fourth week of January
Amaan Udhares Towers 5 and 6: Third week of January
Amaan Udhares Towers 9 and 10: Fifth week of January
Amaan Dhoadhi Towers 1, 2, 3, 4, 12, 13, 14: Fifth week of January
Amaan Dhoadhi Towers 15 and 16: Second week of January
Amaan Dhoadhi Towers 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11: Fifth week of January
At a meeting with Hulhumale' Phase II residents on Thursday night, President Muizzu also announced reductions in rent and down payments for FDC flats. Under the revised rates:
Three‑bedroom flats: Monthly rent reduced from MVR 10,500 to MVR 10,000; advance payment reduced from MVR 25,000 to MVR 8,000
Two‑bedroom flats: Monthly rent reduced from MVR 7,000 to MVR 6,000; advance payment reduced to one month’s rent
