US Ambassador meets with Gayoom

United States Ambassador to the Maldives Ms Michele J Sison has met with former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.

A statement issued by Gayoom’s Office today said that the meeting was held at the office of the former president, and that discussions were held about strengthening the ties between the two countries. Views were also exchanged on the present political situation in the country.

No further details about the meeting have been disclosed.
