Police post video in search of for five suspects related to ongoing investigation

The police have posted a video in search of five people in relation to an ongoing investigation.

The one-and-a-half minute video shows a group of people at the corner of Majeediyya on Sosun Magu hurling stones at police officers near Majeediyya on Medhuziyaaraiy Magu. A man in a black t-shirt is seen flinging a police barricade.

One of the men has a flag of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) tied around his neck. They throw objects at the police and scurry towards Sosun Magu.

In the video, the police have marked the wanted people with circles. The suspects are later seen participating in MDP’s march.

Police said that due protection will be provided to people who share information on the suspects with the police. They also thanked the public for their support in such matters.

The statement by the police says, “Thus, anyone who has information on the five people is requested to contact Maldives Police Criminal Investigation Department at 9631696 or Maldives Police Hotline at 3322111 as soon as possible. Protection will be provided to people who share information on the five people with the police.”
