Ali Zuhair, who has been transferred to the position of Managing Director at the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), July 30, 2025.
Ibrahim Nazeem, the State Minister for the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Road Development Corporation (RDC). This appointment follows the transfer of the former Managing Director, Ali Zuhair, to the position of Managing Director at the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) formally announced these changes on Wednesday.
Zuhair's appointment to HDC comes after the resignation of Mohamed Mauroof Jameel. Mauroof, who assumed the role of HDC Managing Director on December 22, 2024, opted for retirement six months subsequent to his appointment.
In an interview with state media outlet PSM on the 8th of this month, Mauroof stated that he accepted the position while in a state of semi-retirement. He further indicated that, even upon assuming the role, he did not intend to serve HDC for an extended period, driven instead by a profound desire to contribute, albeit briefly, due to his dedication to the work.
It is noteworthy that Nazeem, who was appointed as the Managing Director of RDC on Wednesday, previously held the same position during the administration of former President Abdullah Yameen. Nazeem was later dismissed from RDC due to allegations of corruption.
