Ooredoo Maldives have conducted a special awareness session for local media regarding artificial intelligence on Saturday, May 17, in commemoration of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.
The awareness session was conducted as part of the telecom provider’s Digital Maldives Initiative.
Participants from various media outlets discussed AI’s general information, scope and functions, integration in local media, as well as the ethics of using AI. Participants had also discussed enhancing familiarization with AI.
Ooredoo Maldives had also showcased its AI chatbot and provided information on the aspects the company focused during the bot’s development.
AI, one of the most recent global phenomena, is a broad field of computer science focusing on creating machines capable of performing tasks that generally require human intelligence, including learning, reasoning, problem-solving, and decision making. Following the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, the world observed a fast boom of AI-powered technologies and tools with several tech economies rushing to capitalize on this technology.
