Local telecom operator, Ooredoo Maldives has hosted the largest underwater panel discussion to set a world record.
Ooredoo, via a post on X, announced they have made history as a Guinness World Record holder for hosting the largest underwater panel discussion.
As per Ooredoo, the remarkable achievement reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to innovation and the strength of its network — delivering seamless connectivity, even beneath the waves.
The commemorative plaque recognizing the world record was accepted by Ooredoo’s CEO and Managing Director, Khalid al-Hamadi.
Commenting on the achievement, Ooredoo’s Chief Commercial Officer Hussain Niyaz said the panel discussion marked a groundbreaking moment where innovation met the beauty of nature. He stressed that the initiative was not just about setting records but also about redefining what is possible when technology, purpose, and passion come together.
Maldives also secured a world record in 2022, when the highest number of people free-dived simultaneously, with the participation of over 400 people.
