President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu affirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring equal access to education for every child across all islands on Monday.
He made the remark in a statement to mark the beginning of the academic year 2025.
In his statement, the President reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving the education sector. He highlighted several ongoing initiatives in this trajectory, including providing additional opportunities and training for teachers, creating better learning environments, upgrading facilities, and supporting all service providers within the sector.
He assured that every child across all islands would have equal access to education, aiming for outcomes that make parents proud.
President Muizzu, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in developing the education sector, urged the public to continue supporting the progress and success of the field with the same spirit in the new academic year. He also called for greater cooperation in nurturing children's skills and enhancing their achievements on both national and international stages.
The President concluded his address by urging teachers and those in the education sector to serve with sincerity and a strong sense of duty. He appealed to parents to stay patient and committed to giving their children a strong foundation based on quality education. To students, he encouraged them to make the most of opportunities starting from an early age.
Notably, President Muizzu also shared a congratulatory message on his official X account to mark the occasion, extending warm greetings to students, parents, teachers, and all those serving in the education sector.
The academic year 2025 began on Monday and will end on December 25th. The following academic year is set to begin on January 27th, 2026.
