Former President Mohamed Nasheed has not returned to Male’ despite the expiry of the period granted by Hulhumale’ court for him to travel abroad.
The second hearing for the case regarding charges taken up against him by the state for the arrest of the Criminal Court Judge Abdulla Mohamed has been scheduled for 16:00 this evening.
The permission granted for his travel to India expired yesterday. Senior members of Nasheed’s Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) have also confirmed that Nasheed has not yet returned from his travels.
Nasheed left for India on the 5th of this month. He first requested for permission to be abroad until last Thursday. The deadline was then extended until yesterday.
