Weather expected to start clearing up on Wednesday

The weather will clear up in a large part of the Maldives starting Wednesday, according to the national weather agency.

The Maldives Meteorological Service forecasts scattered rain with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms in northern and central parts of the country over the next 24 hours.

The agency also forecasts northeast to easterly winds at 8-18 miles per hour, with guests of 35 miles per hour during showers.

Seas are expected to be moderate becoming rough during showers, with waves of 3-6 feet.

The weather agency forecasts the rainy weather will prevail in northern and central regions in the next 48 hours. The weather is expected to begin clearing up on Wednesday, resulting in calmer seas.
