President Muizzu embarks on tour of R. Atoll

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday morning departed Male’ on a three-day tour of islands in R. Atoll.

According to the President’s Office, President Muizzu will be visiting at least 11 islands in R. Atoll as part of the current tour; Vaadhoo, Angolhitheemu, Hulhudhuffaaru, Innamaadhoo, Kinolhas, Maakurath, Maduvvari, Fainu, Rasgetheemu, Rasmaadhoo, and Ungoofaaru.

His first stop was Vaadhoo.

He is set to holding meetings with the atoll council as well as local councils, women’s development committees, and senior figures at institutions in the islands, during which he will inquire about the unique developmental needs of each island.

He will inaugurate several developmental projects in the islands, including the commencement of ATM service, as part of the administration’s pledge to facilitate easier access to banking services across the nation.

He will also lay the foundation for new council premises and inaugurate national identity card and passport services.

He is accompanied on the tour by cabinet ministers and senior government officials, and is set to return to Male’ on Thursday.

This tour is part of the President Muizzu’s pledge to engage with local councils across the atolls, islands, and cities.
