Youth arrested with 43 bottles of alcohol

A youth has been arrested while in possession of a large quantity of alcohol.

Ali Hazim, 22, Ufulandhooge, R. Maduvvari, was arrested from Male’ last night during an operation conducted by the Police based on a tip received to Narcotic Intelligence informing of illegal possession, sale and consumption of alcohol.  

According to the Police, the car he was driving was stopped and searched during the operation during the operation from which 43 bottles of alcohol were seized. The car has also been towed to the police custody, added the Police.

Ali Hazim was remanded in police custody for 10 days upon being presented before the court for a remand hearing.

The case is under further investigation by the Police.
