Four people arrested along with Shahid over corruption allegations

Four people have been arrested along with former Head of Disaster Management Centre (DMC) Abdulla Shahid over corruption allegations mentioned in an audit report, for fraud involving amounts of MVR 24 million during 2009 and 2010.

Sun Online has received information that the people taken under arrest are Ahmed Arif, 49, of Ma. Ever Glory; Mohamed Waheed, 53, of Dhigali, B. Eydhafushi; Abdullah Saeed, 49 of Feyrumaage, Gdh. Hoadeddhoo; and Mohamed Shahid, 53, of H. Rabee’ee Manzil.

Police have also confirmed that four people have been arrested regarding this case.

The four people and Shahid have been taken to Criminal Court for the extension of their detention periods.
