President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Tuesday, has affirmed the current administration’s commitment to foster peaceful and inclusive society by enacting policies and laws that ensure equitable access to healthcare, education, and justice, tailored to the nation’s unique geography.

He made the remark via a post on X on the occasion of the Human Rights Day.

Human Rights Day celebrates the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which outlines the fundamental rights to which every individual is entitled, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political opinion, or any other status.

In his post, the President highlighted that Human Rights Day serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness of our rights. He emphasized that the Maldives remains committed to creating a society where dignity, equality, and justice are the foundation of democracy.

Additionally, he reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring press freedom, workers' rights, gender equality, and a sustainable environment for future generations.

The theme for this year's Human Rights Day is "Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now."
