President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Monday affirmed the government will carry out special initiatives in every island next year.
He made the remarks while speaking to the residents of K. Himmafushi, which is his most recent stop in the ongoing tour of meeting with island council bodies.
“… If I were to paint a vision, then the upcoming year will be one where we will be initiating special initiatives across all the islands, every society, and community to solve their major issues,” President said.
He described the proposed budget for the upcoming year will usher in a golden era of housing solutions for the Maldivian people. He added that housing would be among the top priorities for Himmafushi as well.
Besides this, he also highlighted other planned initiatives for the island including the development of the island’s school and health services.
Speaking in this regard, he noted that road development projects will commence in the islands where water and sewerage initiatives have already concluded successfully. He also promised special priorities towards community-centric projects related to sports and recreation.
He assured discussions with relevant council bodies in realizing the economic vision of the people as per their needs.
