GDh. Gadhdhoo Council states no action has been taken against the Council’s President Mohamed Ahmed so far, over defamatory remarks he allegedly made against President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Local Government Authority (LGA) sent a letter to Gadhdhoo Council demanding action against Mohamed Ahmed over the alleged use of “vulgar language” against President Muizzu and other top government officials in messages sent to a WhatsApp group.

Gadhdhoo Council member Ali Shareef told Sun on Wednesday that the allegations are being investigated by Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll Council. However, he said no action has been taken against Mohamed Ahmed so far.

Sun was unsuccessful in its efforts to obtain a comment from Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll Council regarding the matter.

Prior to this, Shareef has said the allegation was based on a discussion held regarding a six-month delay in government approval to develop a pre-school in Gadhdhoo.

He said that the council does not understand why the remarks were labeled as “vulgar language” and does not believe it requires for Mohamed Ahmed to be penalized.
