Man arrested for holding person hostage inside car

The police have arrested a man believed to have held a person hostage inside a car in Hulhumale’.

The incident in question took place on Monday night.

The police announced on Tuesday that they had arrested Thalal Moosa, 37, Dhafthar no. 9022, K. Male’, in connection to the case.

According to the police, Thalal is accused of holding a Maldivian man hostage in a car and beating him.

He also allegedly made phone calls to the victim’s family demanding money.

The case is under further investigation by the police.
