Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Tuesday, to participate in the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29).
COP29 began in Baku on Monday and will continue until November 22.
According to the President’s Office, President Muizzu, accompanied by a high-level delegation, was warmly welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by senior Azerbaijani government officials.
The COP29 agenda focuses on establishing a new collective financial goal, strengthening international cooperation, and addressing challenges to the development of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
President Muizzu arrived in Baku following an official visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, a session dedicated to addressing the escalating Israeli aggression against Palestine and Lebanon.
