Police have begun looking into a death threat against Mariyam Sama Shareef, a popular local TikTok star, which was made during a TikTok live.

A police spokesperson said on Thursday that the police have become aware of a death threat made against a woman on TikTok.

“We are looking into this,” said the police.

While the police did not provide any details, Sama shared a recording of the live stream via her Facebook account on Wednesday afternoon.

In the live stream, a female TikTok user ‘Asley’ threatens to cut Sama’s throat.

“I swear, the moment my feet touch Male’, I’m going to cut your throat. I will straight out cut your throat,” she threatened.

She also used foul language and threatened Sama’s children.

Sama gained popularity for using her TikTok account to raise funds for people in need.
