The Islamic Ministry has opened registration for Maldives’ first Hajj and Umrah Conference – a gathering of all hajj and umrah groups in the country.

The conference will be held on October 31 at the hall of the Islamic Center in Male’.

According to the Islamic Ministry, the purpose of the conference is to improve hajj and umrah services and seek the opinion of local groups that provide such services.

Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed previously said that over 60 registered umrah groups have been invited to attend the conference.

He said that the conference will also serve as an opportunity to educate groups regarding new hajj and umrah regulations formulated by the Saudi government.

The Hajj and Umrah Conference is the latest of similar conferences organized by the Islamic Ministry, including one for local Islamic scholars and one for imams.
