Migrant worker missing from Hulhumale’ since mid-August

The police have launched a search operation to find a migrant worker reported missing from Hulhumale’ in mid-August.

The police announced on Tuesday that ID Mohamed Sekh, 32, an Indian national, was reported missing to the authority on the evening of August 14.

The police asked for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to call the police hotline at 3322111 or the Hulhumale’ Phase I Police Station at 9980062.

The Maldives, despite its sizable migrant population, does not have their information available in one database. The Home Ministry launched ‘Operation Kurangi’ earlier this year to collect the biometric data of all migrants living in the country.
