A fire has broken out on a boat travelling to K. Kaashidhoo with five people.
The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said that the incident was reported to the authority at around 03:14 pm on Sunday.
The MNDF said that the boat had been travelling with five people; three expatriates and two locals.
However, it did not say if there were any injuries.
Firefighters from the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service are responding to the incident.
The fire on the Kaashidhoo-bound boat marks the second such incident on Sunday. The first one involves a fire that broke out on a cargo boat carrying water to Kandima Maldives, a resort in Dh. Atoll.
There were four people onboard at the time, all of whom are reported to be safe.
The MNDF later said that firefighters have managed to put out the fire. While the fire did not cause any injuries, it resulted in massive damage to the boat.
