Ministry of Social and Family Development and National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) has held joint discussions to facilitate training opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The meeting held on Tuesday saw discussions on crucial reforms to the ‘National Competency Standards’ to facilitate training programs for persons with disabilities and empower women.
The "National Competency Standards" is the criteria to assess whether students completing training programs have the adequate skills and abilities to work in the field in which they were trained.
It was decided during Tuesday’s meeting that youths required for various fields will be trained for those fields respectively via national apprenticeship programs and national trade testing certification.
The meeting was attended by NSDA’s CEO Dr. Zahra Mohamed in addition to senior officials from both NSDA and the Ministry.
Implementation of the policy ‘Emmenah Vazeefa’, translated to jobs for all, is a pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Ministry of Social and Family Development is undertaking significant efforts to implement the policy as part of which they have launched a national apprenticeship program in collaboration with NSDA.
