Expat arrested from Hulhumale’ with 144 cans of beer

An expatriate has been arrested from Hulhumale’ with liquor bottles and over 100 cans of beer.

The expatriate, identified as 26-year-old MD Kalu from Bangladesh, was arrested in an operation on Tuesday night in Hulhumale’ Phase I.

According to the police, the police stopped and searched a car in Midhilimagu, and found 144 cans of beer and four bottles of liquor.

The case is under investigation by the Hulhumale’ Phase I Police Station.

The police have made multiple arrested from Hulhumale’ in recent weeks for possession of alcohol. Statistics released by the police show it has received reports of 1,152 cases related to narcotics so far this year.
