Bar Council seeks Secretary General for MVR 40,500 salary

Bar Council of the Maldives (BCM) has announced a vacancy for the post of a Secretary General.

As per the announcement, BCM had initially made an announcement on August 5 regarding the same vacancy. They said the new announcement was made as the initial announcement had not received an adequate response.

A Secretary General is appointed for a term of one year. The salary offered for the position is MVR 40,500 per month alongside other work-related allowances, Ramadan allowance and pension contributions in line with the Pension Act.

Requirements for prospective candidates are as follows;

  • Must hold a first degree in law
  • Must have minimum seven years of experience as a lawyer
  • Must not have any proven cases in either courts or the Bar Council that question their integrity with respect to the work they have carried out in the legal field
  • Must not be bankrupt
  • Must not have any criminal conviction

The announcement states previous candidates who applied for the post need not to resubmit their applications.

The deadline to submit applications is 12:00pm on August 26th
