SAARC’s Secretary General arrives in Maldives on introductory visit

South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC)’s Secretary General Md. Golam Sarwar has arrived in the Maldives on Sunday on an official visit.

In a statement, Foreign Ministry said the Secretary General’s visit is part of introductory visits to nations since he assumed the post in October 2023.

As per the Ministry, Sarwar is scheduled to call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer during this visit. He will also meet Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya during his visit.

Sarwar is scheduled to conclude the visit and depart from Maldives on Thursday, August 8^th.

He is accompanied by his spouse Taslima Sarwar and Director, SAARC Secretariate Shahiya Ali Manik and SAARC Secretariat Bhavesh R. Trivedi.
